I am a software developer and technology enthusiast. While completing the Computer Programmer Analyst diploma program at Fanshawe college about 10 years ago, I started working for TD Bank Group. I progressed through a variety of roles over the years including phone channel agent, web analyst, developer intern and developer. Today I am a solution designer (sofware developer) on the retail technology team tasked with building innovative sales software for in-store and call center employees.
Outside of my normal day job, I have had the opportunity to work with a number of organizations and clients, developing and contributing to a variety of custom software solutions . These opportunities have given me the ability to dabble in a variety of software frameworks, languages and platforms.
My experiences in my daily job and while working on contracts has helped me understand that there is no single correct process, technology or language for writing great software. More importantly, great software is produced by an individual or team that can determine the right tools, have focus and enthusiasm to get the job done. I have also learned how important it is to reassess your own skillset and continue to experiment with new frameworks and languages in order to continue to be a relevant software developer.
